The tester is used to test free (active) chlorine and the pH value of pool water. To keep your pool water crystal clear, its use is essential. First measure the pool water values and if they are outside the normal range (pH 6.9-7.2; Cl 0.3-0.7), adjust the pool water using pool chemicals. First adjust the pH value (pH+ or pH-) and then adjust the chlorine value (only increase – if the chlorine value is too high, do not decrease it, it will drop on its own in a few days). Chlorine is applied only after regulating pH because the effectiveness of chlorine outside the recommended pH range rapidly decreases
The DPD tester works on the principle of visual comparison with a color reference next to the sampling chambers – after adding tablets (chlorine/pH) the water colors, according to the results it is necessary to adjust the chlorine/pH value in the pool

Total chlorine - The sum of free and combined chlorine.
Combined chlorine - Chlorine that is already bound to impurities in the water. Causes a characteristic odor. The most common form of combined chlorine is the so-called chloramines.
Free chlorine - Active chlorine present in the water for its disinfection. It reacts with organic impurities to form combined chlorine.
